Since 1847, Carlsberg has brewed beer in Valby near the Danish capital, Copenhagen. For nearly 160 years industrial history has been written on this site. However, at the end of 2008 Carlsberg will shut down beer production in Valby and move it to Fredericia, Denmark.
Highly attractive
The site in Valby is well known for its considerable architectural value and many of the old buildings are protected. Being close to Copenhagen makes it a highly attractive site for developers.
Carlsberg wants a well documented and complete overview of the area and its present use. The map documentation delivered by COWI will form the basis for the future planning of the area.
3D visualization of the brewery site
COWI will deliver a detailed 3D visualization of the site as it is in 2006, and a 3D city model of part of Copenhagen. The 3D city model will be used in connection with a coming architectural competition about the future development of the brewery site.
