COWI, with COWI Mapping UK, has been selected by the Danish State Mapping Agency, KMS, to produce photogrammetric mapping of 250,000 square kilometres of Greenland's coastline.
The project is using aerial photography flown in 1985 at a scale of 1:150,000.
Apart from the historical importance of the imagery, the mapping is being used to correct the scale and positional accuracy of the Hydrographic Chart series.
After completing a successful pilot project, the aerial triangulation was completed to orientate the imagery int the KMS GR96 UTM zone 24 project coordinate system.
The project includes producing DTM, orthophotos, contours and spot heights.
