Digital Terrain Models

A Digital Terrain Model (DTM) gives a detailed interpretation of the variation of, for example, a topographical surface.
Used with other digital data, DTM can provide 3D visualisation of a surface like a land area or a building.
COWI Mapping UK can produce major areas of automatic Digital Terrain Models (DTM) due to large capacity and powerful workstations.

Socet Set ATE is used for the terrain correlation and stereo editing is completed, using Socet Set Interactive Terrain Editor software.

Terrain editing is finalised in a Triangular Irregular Network (TIN) format, using break lines to define the shape of the terrain accurately.

Contours and Grids can be in ASCII, DXF or MOSS among others.
