Born and educated in Canada, Mike joined the Canadian Army where he acquired his basic survey and mapping skills. He was able to advance his education at Victoria University while working for the British Columbia government as a photogrammetrist.Mike relocated to the United Kingdom in 1977 and worked as a photogrammetric supervisor for Engineering Surveys before becoming Director of Surveys and Mapping for W.S. Atkins and Operations Manager for Simmons Aerofilms. He achieved Chartered Surveyor status with the RICS in 1991 and has published numerous papers for the Photogrammetric Society and various other institutions over the years.As part of their strategy to expand its operations in the UK, Mike joined COWI in 2005 and was appointed Managing Director. He brings more than 40 years experience in mapping to the organisation and will oversee its activities in the British Isles.
